This is the type of jam that would make me roll the windows down and put the volume to 32 (that's petty high). I am gonna have to try and get my hands on this instrumental cause it is quite smooth.
A couple years ago I was put on to Jessie Boykins III by a good friend. She told me he was a local artist (Miami, Fl) who was about to blow up. I didn't put any doubt in her words because we have similar taste in music, but you know my critical ears had to be the judge. And on that note I have one thing to say, "good looking out homie".
From Jessie's website: "Jesse Boykins III has a timeless sound. He shares a point of view that crosses all genres and generations. Every note and each word in all his recorded works to his live performance is skillfully crafted evoking emotions that move the listener to examine and acknowledge those feelings within themselves". Couldn't have said it any better myself. Here are some songs that I liked and should give you a great introduction to Jessie's music.
Damn Amy .............Damn Damn Damn. This first song was the jam that got me stuck on you and why I got your album "Back To Black." She used to be so pretty, now she just looks all "crackish."
Dedicated to my recent visit to the borough of Brooklyn, New York...............Bed Stuy to be exact. Unfortunate circumstances brought me there but a good and rested spirit prevailed over the visit which allowed for a good time to be had by most..
